Dr Martin Watts is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Newcastle and a Research Associate at the Centre of Full Employment and Equity (CofFEE). He previously spent 16 years as an academic at Monash University.
He has secured competitive research grants, and published over 60 refereed journal articles, many of which have appeared in international journals. He started publishing research work on topics based on the principles of Modern Monetary Theory nearly 20 years ago.
He is co-author with William Mitchell and Randall Wray of the 2019 textbook Macroeconomics which is published by Palgrave Macmillan.
